Naomi Osaka and Simone Biles..... Knock it off, people.

Recently, Simone Biles made news at the 2020/2021 Olympics by deciding to pull out of competition, citing that she needed a mental health break; she decided that she had a hard time focusing on her routines, and didn't want to be a burden to her teammates during the Olympics. Not too long ago, Naomi Osaka dropped out of the French Open, citing similar concerns. Since then, people have been running them through the wringer, citing how they "Didn't understand! YOU need to do this and win FOR US, not YOU!!!!!". Implying that it didn't matter what they were going through, as long as they did their job and WON. Not for themselves, mind you, but for all of the other people who watch these things, and (for the most part) never played them themselves.

 Screw those people.

I applaud Naomi and Simone for deciding that their own health was far more important than essentially entertaining a bunch of people who think that as individuals, they aren't important. As a commodity, well that's different. Win at all costs, no matter what that cost is. Who cares if you can't sleep at night, or have issues you need to deal with, as long as USA! USA! USA! comes out on top. They need 'time off', they should take it. So what if they don't win or even compete *now*, when they can do it at a later date, when they are at the top of their game emotionally and mentally.
So, don't listen to the whiners; listen to yourself. You are more important than someone who complains over a 'missed chance', that they themselves would never train or sacrifice for.

If they want a gold medal so bad, let them compete. After all, how had could it be, right?

Olympics 2020/2021

Even without the pandemic, I can honestly say, I really REALLY do NOT care about the Olympics anymore.

Oh No! They changed the team name!

Recently, the Cleveland Indian baseball team decided to change the team name from 'Indians', to 'Guardians'. Haven't heard any whining about it yet, but I feel it's coming. Probably be people burning jerseys and hats and what-not, screaming about how "POLITICAL CORRECTNESS AND CANCEL CULTURE ARE RUINING 'MURRICA!!!!!!" or some such shit. Not really realizing that their value *just might* go up, since they won't be made anymore, but whatever.

Personally, I don't care. I'm not a Cleveland fan, so it doesn't bother me. Just like when Washington changed their football team name from Redskins to Football Team (placeholder alert!). Even though I'm not a member of a Native American tribe, 'Redskins' didn't really sit well with me in the first place. Some people might not it a big deal - "We're actually HONORING them, really!" - how would they feel if they named the team THIS:

Although to be honest, this might be a better name than the one they have now.

You're Not Perfect.

Hate to break it to you, but you're not perfect. Sorry. Not only are you not, but you're parents aren't, either. Nor are your relatives, friends, children, boss, co-workers, doctors, lawyers, retail workers, police, firefighters, emergency responders...in fact, NO ONE is. Oh, some of them might *seem* perfect (at least in your eyes), but they aren't. And you know what? It's okay. No one is meant to be 'perfect'.

To me, 'being perfect' is the same as 'being a complete expert at something': it means that you have nothing else to learn from whatever you're supposedly an expert at. Just like perfect. No where else to go. Stagnant. Locked in with no room for improvement or learning.

But, you *can* learn more. You *can* increase your knowledge and life experiences, simply by acknowledging that you *aren't* a 'perfect expert'. You have room to grow, change, and open yourself up to new horizons and challenges. Because you CAN. Because you really aren't stagnant. You are growing as a person, and as weird as it might sound, it's okay not to be perfect. None of us are.

We're all in this together. Imperfect as we are.

'Stupid' is also a pandemic...

...which might not have a cure or even a vaccine.

Before things changed somewhat drastically during the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 (about a year or so before), we went to a store to pick up a few things. This place had an olive bar, where you could select and package up whatever selections of olives you chose. Yes, I know it sounds odd, but it does exists.

Well, while there, we noticed a man scooping out various olives into what appeared to be a napkin. Turns out, it was. The spoon was too much of a hassle for him it seemed, so he decided to PICK THEM OUT OF THE CONTAINERS WITH HIS FINGERS. Then, he walked about the store, munching away, without a care. And, no, he wasn't a child, nor did he seem to have any 'issues' that would explain his behavior. He just wanted to at a snack, and not pay (or 'harvest' or package) his food of choice. A complete and utter pig!

Speaking of stores, is it too much to ask to get people to move their damn carts to the side of the aisle, if they're going to walk away from it to get something further down the aisle, or from another one entirely? You don't have to block everyone trying to get by just because you're too stupid to remember to get that can of mushrooms you missed. Plus, don't pull an attitude when someone moves it so they can get by. Hate to tell you, but THEY aren't the "stupid moron!!"....YOU are.

There's more to this particular screed, but I'll save you the influx of annoyance for now.

This time.

Idiots On Parade (First of a series)

Hey! Here's a thought....if you don't wear a mask (whether you have gotten the vaccine, or you're one of those people who refuse to do so for whatever damn stupid lie you want to harbor), could you at least COVER YOUR GODFORSAKEN MOUTH WHEN COUGHING IN PUBLIC????? Here's the thing...people are still getting sick, either from, say, allergies, or flat-out sinus troubles; soon, cold and flu season will slam into us again as well. When it *does* get here, I'm planning on wearing a mask, to help protect myself and others, just in case. Yes, even if - *IF* - COVID is more under control, and they aren't really needed for it at the time. Why? Because I believe in making sure that people need to be protected from illness should be something everyone should at least attempt, because one day, you're going to need help for the same thing.

So, please PLEASE cover the cough, and think of others. After all, one day, you might be in the line of fire.

Whatever.....

Yes, a second post, on the heels of my first one. I would apologize, except I'm going to put these up (A) when I can, and (B) when I feel like it.

The title of this one, Whatever, is more than just that...it's also my general mantra about life in general. There's too much worry, apprehension, fear, hate, and all-around nastiness to deal with on a daily basis; so, what to do? What to tink about it all? Simple.

Whatever.

Someone cuts you off in traffic? Whatever. Let them. I don't care.

Someone plays loud music, keeping you up, even after you've asked them to please turn it down? Whatever. I hope they like Judas Priest during their 'quiet time'.

The store doesn't have that thing you wanted, because you missed the sale? Whatever. Buy it regardless after it's over, or go to a place that still has it. Or wait until it's on sale again, depending on how much you want/need it.

Basically, don't let things bug you when you needlessly. There are more important things to worry and care about. Little annoyances aren't worth your time or energy. Let them go, and concentrate on the things that matter. After all, sometimes things *are* out of your control. The last thing you need to do, is be bothered by them.

Hello. And, buckle up.

 Greetings, all.

Well, this is a place for me to pretty much rant, ramble, opine, muse, and generally just say things that I want to inflict on those who stop by.

How are you? Doing well? Hope so. Too much going on in the world right now to give too much hope to us; but, there is light amongst the dark. My purpose is to (hopefully, anyway!) inform, delight, entertain, and maybe cause some discussion. Let's see what happens, shall we?

Yep...Still here...

Well.     How have you all been? I hope you're all doing well. Myself? Well, not bad. Some interesting things have been going on rec...
